Civil War Reenactment In Payson Arizona
The town of Payson held a Civil War reenactment event on April 4th 2009 at Green Valley Park. They were calling it the "Battle of Payson" even though there never was a Civil War battle in Payson.
Going to a Civil War reenactment can be fun for the whole family and educational. In between the two scheduled battles the crowd mingles with actors like Robert E. Lee, Abe Lincoln, soldiers, and the soldier's wives and kids. As with all Civil War reenactments there is a tribute to American Veterans. At the end of the day everyone marched over to the Payson Veterans Memorial in the Park and listened to Abe Lincoln recite the Gettysburg address.
